Frequently Asked Questions
- What is Deckvio?
Deckvio is a browser-based tool for creating board game card decks and taking them all the way into play. You can design templates, organize card data, export print-ready PDF sheets, bring your deck into a 3D board game simulator, and even jump into multiplayer playtests with other people without juggling a bunch of different apps.
- Does Deckvio support reusable card templates?
Yes. You can build a template once, connect it to named data fields, and reuse that same layout across as many cards as you need.
- Does Deckvio support TCG card text formatting?
Yes. The Template Editor includes TCG Text Formatting tools for inline token icons, along with template-level font, color, and size settings. That means a single text field can comfortably handle mana symbols, rules text, reminder text, and flavor text together.
- Can I export boardgame cards as PDF?
Yes. You can export your card sheets as print-ready PDFs for playtesting, sharing with teammates, or sending off for print.
- What is the 3D board game simulator?
The 3D board game simulator lets you bring your deck into a playable tabletop-style space right in the browser. It is a hands-on way to see how your cards feel on the table, move pieces around, and check whether the overall setup makes sense before a real session.
- Does Deckvio support multiplayer?
Yes. Deckvio now includes multiplayer features, so you can create a room, invite other people in, and test together instead of reviewing everything alone. It is built to make remote collaboration feel a lot closer to sitting around the same table.
- What does Playtest mean in Deckvio?
Playtest is the step where your saved deck moves from design into actual use. In Deckvio, that means you can load your cards into the simulator, try out turns and interactions, and spot balance or readability issues early while changes are still easy to make.
- Is Deckvio free to use?
Deckvio is still actively being built and improved, and for now it is free to use. That could change later as the service grows, but nothing has been decided yet. If pricing ever changes, your saved card data will still be kept safe and won't be deleted.
- Can I use the provided images for published products?
We really respect the work of board game artists and designers, so when you are preparing something for an official product, we encourage using original artwork whenever possible. Some images included in Deckvio are AI-generated to help speed up prototyping, and they are generally best suited for playtesting, early mockups, and internal prototype work. How broadly you choose to use AI-generated images is ultimately up to you, but if you are aiming for a published release or external distribution, we recommend making that choice carefully and thoughtfully.
